The joint proposal of the SeaGOOS Pilot Project: Ocean Forecast Demonstration System in the Southeast Asian Seas was approved by the IOC/WESTPAC during the Eighth Session of the IOC Sub-Commission for the Western Pacific (WESTPAC-VIII), Bali, Indonesia during May 10-13, 2010. This project is headed by Prof. Fredolin Tangang (Malaysia) with Prof. Fredolin Tangang (Malaysia), Dr Somkiat (Thailand) and Prof. Fangli Qiao (China) as steering committee members.
