In addition to the MoU, several a Letter of Intent (LOI) and several sub-LOIs were signed between the First Institute of Oceanography (FIO) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) during FIO delegation visit to Malaysia from August 3-7, 2009. The delegation visited UKM, National Oceanographic Directorate (NOD), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysian Meteorological Department (MMD).
